Penrose is an original modern rock band hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah. Penrose's style could be described as Indie Blues Rock with tasty swaths of Alternative & Pop wedged into the joints.
Vocalist Madison Penrose is no stranger to the microphone, having been an American Idol National Top 30 Finalist and winner of the Utah Idol competition in 2014.
After forming in April 2015, the band found their feet quickly. “It was pretty obvious from the very first rehearsal with the guys that we had something that was really good, high energy, and unique” says Madison. “Everything just came together really easily. Within just a few months, we were out playing shows with all original material and the audiences were really into what we were doing. It was pretty exciting!”
Audiences are treated to a high energy and dynamic show, with the 4 piece transitioning seamlessly between catchy indie/pop melodies and energetic alt rock anthems, to lighter acoustic numbers that showcase Madisons formidable vocal range. Their style has prompted comparisons to Paramore, ZZ Ward and Pink.
Penrose joined the 3 band “Blissmas Tour” in December 2015 for promotion of their debut 5 track EP “Light it Up” with home grown Utah favorites Royal Bliss and American Hitmen. Covering multiple Western U.S states, the tour received glowing reviews and quickly gained the young band a reputation as one to watch.
Since that first tour, the band has been feverishly busy. Recent highlights include support performances with various national touring acts such as Dreamers, Switchfoot, Dorothy and Wayland, travel to Texas for recording of their second EP with producer Eric Holtz, an exceptional Main Stage performance delighting a 4000 strong crowd at the Snowbasin Brews, Blues & Bbq Summer Concert series (UT) and multiple performances at the 2017 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (SD). Penrose have impressed television audiences with live appearances on Comcast Cable Networks, Park City Television, Fox 13 TV and Xfinity Television.
The band has produced two extremely catchy EP's in "Light it Up" and "Beautiful Mistake", with the follow up 2018 singles "Make You Love Me" and "Sinner" receiving wide spread praise. Buoyed by the bands energetic live performances, live TV appearances, and radio play in Salt Lake City, the band has quickly developed into a Utah favorite and are consistantly impressing growing crowds every show.
